A watch built to a standard, and it is a pleasure to work on something made when accuracy was a safety requirement rather than a selling point. The enamel dial was sound under the dust. The case back had gone green in the threads.
Stripped, cleaned, one cracked jewel replaced and the hairspring trued where somebody had bent it getting the balance out. It now keeps to within four seconds a day in the dial-up position, which is what the railroad asked of it in 1911.
