The buyer paid very little for it and was told it was scrap. It was not scrap. It was a flyback with a loose minute-register hand, a crazed crystal and a missing crown, none of which is fatal.
I turned a replacement crown to the original profile, refitted and shortened the register hand, cleaned and reset the flyback mechanism and fitted a new crystal. The reset now lands on zero from any position, which is the only test that matters on a watch like this.
